Leeroy Burrel...

BIOGRAPHY

With a great love of music which spreads across all genres, Lee picked up his first set of decks back in 1999 and started mixing House music.
Playing at House parties for friend’s, word got around that there was a new talent floating around Birmingham and by getting his face around the scene an opportunity arose to prove his ability one Friday night at Hidden in Birmingham.  Due to the promoter being let down at the last minute a slot needed to be filled, and a chance was taken on Lee.  The set went well and in return he continued to get future bookings.
Playing at Hidden gave other promoters the chance to see Lee’s potential.  Bookings started to come in from places such as the ‘Arca Bar’ situated in Birmingham’s busy Arcadian; and ‘Spin’ at Dragon Eye (formally held at Gas Street and 9Bar), Birmingham’s biggest Thursday night event
.Now playing at nights where he is appearing alongside DJ’s such as Lottie, Spencer Parker, Nic Fanciulli, Eric Prydz and Seb Fontain; Lee is being known as one of the big DJ’s to catch in and around Birmingham and has a good following wherever he seems to play. Most of Lee’s bookings do not come from the quality of his demos, but from the quality of his sets.  It is not uncommon for Lee to be approached when he is playing by promoters from other clubs, and offered bookings.  This goes someway to prove his skill and the atmosphere he creates.
With his style expanding more and more Lee’s unique underground sound is erupting dance floors wherever he seems to play. Describing his sound as ‘mean ass music’ he will perform to perfection whether it be House, Tech House, Funky Techno or Minimal that his crowd are hearing.
He’s also teamed up with wonder kid, Colin Barratt (aka Hauswerks) to produce a dirty bassline monster – ‘Gotta Have It’ which has support and interest by Jason Herd. Now doing business with the inform Gaz James, and his records label ‘Toxik World Records’ that kicked off 2006 with one hell of a bang. The first record released in February 2006 seen one of Lee’s biggest productions to date ‘What Was That’, which has already received impressive reactions from Funk D’Void, Robin Tabor (Resist Music A&R), Jim Shaft Ryan, as well as having plays as far as Malta by Joseph Armani who frequently plays Lee’s tracks on his radio shows. The track was also reviewed by Piliavin & Zimbardo for IDJ Magazine to which is received a well earned 5/5 and was also given 4/5 in DJ Mag.
By far, Lee’s biggest track to date has to be the recently made ‘Hypnotik’ to which it has received a formidable response. Set to be another release on Toxik World Records this will really show you the direction to which Lee’s career is heading.
In his record box at the moment are tracks by Kiki, Dan Ghenacia, Damian Lazarus and Silversurfer, be prepared for one hell of a ride!!
